Performance Group Members
Kathy Hendrickson (co-artistic director) is a performer, writer and director
who has been creating theatre and acting professionally for over 20 years both
in New York and in Minneapolis. She is a founding member of The Resident
Company with former members of Second City, The Compass and Story
Theater. From 2003-2006, Hendrickson was founder and director of Present
Elevation, a critically acclaimed New York based transformational improvisation
company. She is also a former member of Collision Theory Theatre Company
with K Tanzer. She has acted on stage in New York, Minneapolis, on film, for
television, and in commercials. In addition to being a theater-maker,
Hendrickson has been teaching Acting Technique and Viola Spolin based
improvisation since 1992. She currently teaches in The New Actors Workshop
two-year professional actor training program in New York City. Hendrickson
holds a Masters Degree in Playwriting, and has written numerous scripts
produced in New York.
K Tanzer (co-artistic director) is an interdisciplinary theatre-maker and
director/choreographer. She has been creating original theatre for ensembles
since 1994. From 1996-2005 Tanzer was the co-Artistic Director of Collision
Theory, an award winning performance company that created and produced
image-saturated physical theatre. Tanzer’s work has been represented by
Pentacle (booking and touring). She has twice been an Artist in Residence with
New York Theatre Workshop and is a proud NYTW Usual Suspect. For the
2007-2008 season, Tanzer is a guest artist with the Aynsley Vandenbroucke
Movement Group. In addition to her professional work, Tanzer teaches at the
New Actors Workshop, a two-year theatre conservatory. She is an adjunct
faculty member of the Laban Institute of Movement Studies (LIMS). She has
given lectures and workshops at New York University/Gallatin School, Towson
University, Bennington College, and the School for Film and Television. Tanzer
is a Certified Movement Analyst.
